Last night we enjoyed a group dinner thanks to Tony at the Barking Parrot located at the host hotel and casino. It was a great opportunity to meet people from all over the world and hear some inspirational stories. Plus some seeds were also planted for me of things I want to do post Professional Ironman career. There is so much out there it is amazing!
It was also the perfect opportunity to celebrate Aisling's birthday! She enjoyed a day swimming at the beach and we all sang happy birthday to her! The knife and cake are just about bigger than her! (it was a very yummy cake by the way! Thanks Tony for organising it!)
While eating dinner we had two very contracting views! The beautiful Okanagan Lake on one side, with the mountains and sun slowly setting....
And the side of the host hotel on the other! There are just a few bikes on the balcony to chose from!
Race day looks like low to mid 30's which is exactly the temperatures that I love!
Today it has been an early morning massage (7.30am) a leisurely breakfast on the deck and now a few hours to get the bags and bike organised before Pro race briefing a noon.
A think either an afternoon nap or a few chapters of "Eclipse" will round the day off nicely!
Dad, Uncle Ray, Peter and Chris all arrive tomorrow and then it will surely be a "Griswald" experience from then on! Stay tuned.....
